On the app store for Android and iOS is a game simply tittled “Survive.” I’m a fan of good game apps. 2048 was a fun one for me. When it was popular and new, I really liked Angry Birds. I wasn’t a fan of Flappy Bird, but I know that others liked it.
There’s been a lot of bigger games that have tried to cash in on the gaming app market, like Fallout Shelter and Assassin’s Creed Revolution, but Survive feels like a serious, simply video game made for the smartphone in a way that doesn’t feel jam packed with little bits of information that are hard to keep track of or with controls not well suited for a tiny screen. The design is simple and the game properly (as far as I know, not having to fend for myself in any life threatening kind of way) portrays the struggle of surviving as you try to get back to civilization. And it’s hard to put down and do something else for that very reason. There never really feels like a “safe” spot to save the game and put it down for later. The game, from start to end, feels like an upward climb.
Even when I’m good on energy, I know that it’s only a matter of time before I run out of water or supplies in the area and have to move on.
Anyways, I super recommend the game.
